Hey guys! So, as I was writing this post a hit and run accident happened outside our apartment, major adrenaline rush. Nobody was hurt, just some crazy sauce. Anyway, it’s August! And for most of the country it has cooled down a bit (in the 80’s here!). But because it is still summer, and the August heat might return making you want to get that hair off your neck, I wanted to share this cute double twisted low bun hairstyle with you!
It looks complicated and fancy, but is really super simple and takes less than 2 minutes! Try it out and let me know what you think! I have a video link below or you can keep reading for a written description of the full tutorial.
Pull your hair into a loose half-up ponytail and tie it off with an elastic band. I use these and usually grab them from Sally’s Beauty Supply.
Using a small section of hair behind each ear, combine them into a ponytail in the back. Then using the natural gap above the elastic, twist the ponytail up and through the gap to create two small twists. You can gently tug at these twists to make them more full. I also slide the clear elastic from the top section down to be hidden by the twists.
Here’s where the second twist comes in. Taking a section of hair on each side of the head and below the ears, tie these two sections together (like how you begin to tie a shoe) and then collect the tails into the main ponytail and tie it off!
You can leave the style like this if you would like or continue on to form a bun with the ponytail.
Use a clear elastic band to form a low bun. Then take all the loose ends and tuck them into the elastic band or use a bobby pin to secure them. If you wear extensions this bun will be more thick and easy to make.
I’m looking for some good clip in extensions! Have a brand you love? Let me know in the comments below!
I hope you love this double twisted low bun and it can be an easy go to hairstyle for you!
