Hellooooo! Two product review subscription box posts in one week?! How lucky are you??? I’ve been working hard trying to get posts out more frequently for you…It’s all for you! Ok, ok, before I get sappy…This Ipsy glam bag was not as much fun as my February glam bag, but I was still able to try some great product and am SO EXCITED to share them with you! Like I stated in my last post of “Pass or Purchase“, I will be doing a review of the Ipsy glam bag vs. the Play! by Sephora box in the near future…so keep your eyes out for that!
Without further adieu, lets jump in! I have linked the products below and also included a widget at the bottom of my post (with other products I have used or heard are amazing) if you want to check anything out.
Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion exfoliator
Ok, so it is recommended that you use this product only 1-2 times per week with three days in between each use. I would listen people!!!! This stuff is strong. I’m going to be honest, this product scared me a little bit with how it made my skin sting. I also felt like it was kind of chemical in smell??? I don’t know. All I know is it burnnneeeddd more than I thought it should.
BUT, I did like the microdermabrasion beads in it that left my skin feeling SO SOFT! I was actually impressed…. And to only use it once a week, I could probably get past the burn.
It has great reviews online, and gets the job done, but is crazy pricey ($79) so I’m going to say PASS!
Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics Blush in color Kitty Pink
A beautiful dusty peach color that supposedly looks good on every skin tone! I liked this blush a lot! It claims to be long wearing, but I did not feel that it was… Have you guys heard of the new trend draping? It is basically contouring your face with your blush! I did try draping out with this blush and felt that it gave me a more natural/subtle color. That was a plus!
If you have a favorite blush, I would say you aren’t missing out… If you don’t, however, give this one a try and PURCHASE!
theBalm Cosmetics Bahama Mama
Another great bronzer in my Ipsy glam bag! There is no hint of orange at all and it is matte bronzer, which is a huge plus in my book. It has great reviews, I felt that it blended very nicely…. No complaints here! So I would say give this product a try if you are wanting a new bronzer, and PURCHASE!
Be a Bombshell Cosmetics Lip Gloss in color Possessed
I’m going to be blunt about this….I only wore this ONCE, and did not like it very much. The color…YES! It is very pretty! But gosh the staying power…… I know this is lipgloss, and I may just be a lip color snob because I love LipSense so much, but I swear, like a half hour after I applied it, it was gone! It was also all over my water bottle, all over my food at lunch, and all over my husbands face when I kissed him.
One plus of it though (other than the pretty color) was that it did feel very hydrating!
So if you don’t care that you need to constantly reapply, and that it gets all over everything, then by all means get it! I, however, am going to have to give it a hard PASS!
OUAI Hair Treatment Masque
I was super excited when I saw this product in my Ipsy glam bag because I love anything that makes my hair healthy and cures its dryness.
Unfortunately though, I not very impressed and the instructions on how to use I felt were vague! (I don’t know…maybe I was having an off day…) I was a little lost at when I needed to put it in (dry or wet), how long it should stay in….it basically gave me no direction. So I watched some YouTube reviews, and tried it two different ways!
The first way I tried it was in the shower, I applied it and then rinsed it out after about 10 min. The second way was in dry brushed hair. I left it for 30 minutes and then showered and washed my hair like normal. I didn’t feel that this did anything for my hair, mayyyybbeeee it was a tinnnyyyy bit more hydrated on the ends of my hair, but nothing that wowed me.
I’m going to have to PASS on this product because my kitchen hair masks work much better than this did.
And that was everything in my March Ipsy glam bag!
This months Ipsy glam bag obviously did not hit the spot with me… I wish it did! I really do! The only two products I would recommend are the Bahama Mama bronzer, and the DLS blush. I also had mixed feelings about how the Dr. Brandt microdermabrasion felt on my skin, but the end result WAS softer, buffed away skin. I will continue to use my sample, but I just can’t justify the “ehhh” in my mind with the price of the exfoliator.
I enjoyed testing out these products, and I will keep the monthly reviews coming!
Have you tried any of these products? If you have I would love to know your thoughts! Drop me a comment below!
